How do I print an information center topic collection and all of its subtopics without having to select each subtopic?

How do I conduct a search that will return what I am looking for?
The search function is located in the top left of the information center. The search is a full-text search.

Type key words for a general search. For example, type the following search terms to find all the topics that contain both or either of the two words partition and logical:

partition logical

You can also search for an exact phrase by entering that phrase in quotation marks. For example, type the following phrase to find only those topics that contain the word logical immediately followed by partition:

"logical partition"

How do I bookmark a Web page in the information center?
To bookmark a Web page within a frame, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click anywhere in the frame that you want to bookmark. A shortcut or pop-up menu opens.
  2. If you are using Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer, click Add to Favorites. You might want to retitle the bookmarked page. Otherwise, you will replace any previous information center bookmarks.
  3. If you are using Netscape Navigator, click Add Bookmark.

Is there a way to easily move from one topic collection to another in the navigation window?
Yes. You can collapse one topic when you move to a new topic by customizing the interface.

To customize this function of the the interface, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Customize interface Customize interface icon in the toolbar.
  2. Select Close current branch in the Customization window.
  3. Click Save.

What is the trail at the top of the content frame? Can I make it disappear? Can I make it show more?
The trail at the top of the content frame is your navigation trail, sometimes called a "branch." It shows your path through the information center.

To hide the navigation trail or to make it show more levels, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Customize interface Customize interface icon in the toolbar.
  2. Select how many items you want to see in the navigation trail box.
  3. Click Save.

Why does the navigation bar not display? Why is the navigation bar unreadable? Why are buttons on the interface not working correctly? Why aren't my PDF links working?
Several releases of the Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Virtual Machine (JVM) contain bugs that seriously affect the performance of the information center. For this reason, we are unable to support any information centers that are running under one of the following releases of the JRE:

Upgrading to a fully supported version of the JVM should correct these problems.

To upgrade to a fully supported version of the JVM, do the following:

  1. Download a fully supported version of the Java Plug-in at: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/jre/javaplugin.exeLink outside information center.
  2. After you install an updated version, ensure that your browser is using the Java Plug-in. You are prompted during the installation of the plug-in, but you can also change the settings for the plug-in by using the Java Plug-in entry in the Control Panel.
